The purpose of thematic collecting is to document and illustrate a selected theme, not only with real or virtual stamps, but also with postal history (including e-mail attachments) and other related "postal" information - virtually any available material that can be stored electronically on computer! And the added beauty of theme stamp collecting is that you can do whatever you like. It becomes your own personal stamp experience. A sheer fun experience!

            

For example you can create a "Family History" virtual stamp collection, where each family member is allocated a "Birth Stamp" issued closest to his or her actual date of birth (or all the stamps around the world that were issued at that time), or stamps bearing the relevant Sign of the Zodiac, or a birth stone. All other milestones and achievements in an individual's life may be illustrated with appropriate stamps ... occupations ... sports ... childhood ... places visited ... births and deaths ...  likes and dislikes... important events ... precious moments, whatever! Write-ups in attractive fonts, borders and color schemes, perhaps interspersed with the odd strategic photograph, not only serve as a useful living record or conversation piece but also become  virtual heirlooms, with as many copies available as there are heirs! Virtual stamp collecting makes it all practically possible.

As the popularity of this Web Site grows and the ranks of Virtual Stamp Collectors swell in CyberSpace, more and more thematic collectors will be swapping their virtual stamps with each other through our "SwopShop".  So more and more virtual examples of every conceivable theme will be housed and freely available under our clubhouse roof.

To get a virtual stamp (JPG Image) you preferably need to barter a virtual stamp of your own ... one which is not already gracing our "swop" columns. (Unless you think yours is a better quality virtual stamp!) So you are encouraged to create your own start-up stock from your existing physical stamp collection. (Try swapping an entire theme or completed virtual collection... say your "pet dogs" for our "music" ... on a stamp for stamp basis.)   See technical specifications.
